Dr Jane Lubchenco, US Under Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere, will be available today for questions at a short door stop press conference.

Dr Lubchenco is in Canberra to participate in a public roundtable featuring Chief Climate Commissioner Professor Tim Flannery, Professor Will Steffen from The Australian National University and Dr Rob Vertessy, Acting Director and CEO of the Bureau of Meteorology.

Media are also welcome to attend the public roundtable following the press conference.

The roundtable has been organised by The Australian National University, the Climate Commission and the Embassy of the United States of America

Nominated by President Obama in December 2008 as part of his science team, Dr Lubchenco is in Australia to attend the International Coral Reef Symposium in Cairns.
