Expertise: Owen Nevin is a Professor of Conservation Biology at CQUniversity Australia. He is a population and behavioural ecologist specialising in large carnivores with much of his research work focused around advancing conservation through developing better management and understanding of both behaviour and the impacts of resource exploitation. His work applies a combination of behavioural, spatial, economic and social tools to gain novel insights into population processes and human interaction with nature. Owen has applied many of the lessons learned in his long-term study (ongoing since 1997) of the brown bear population in Knight Inlet, British Columbia to the management of problem wildlife and conservation of carnivores in other regions around the world.
